The Artists
The Artists’ Shelter
Despite the destruction of cultural and educational institutions across the Gaza Strip, the Artists’ Shelter initiative was established in February 2025 by a group of artists led by Mohammed Harb and Gaza Arts Gallery, as a meeting space for emerging and professional artists.
The Artists’ Shelter offers specialized workshops in visual arts, video art, and photography, as well as technical services and a digital studio, supporting artists in transforming their everyday experiences and the complex realities surrounding them into creative works that bear witness, preserve memory, and make an impact. It organizes exhibitions, film screenings, cultural events, and virtual talks with artists from the diaspora, creating opportunities for artists in Gaza to present their work, exchange knowledge, and engage with audiences beyond Gaza.
Through the initiative, Gaza Arts Gallery seeks to contribute to rebuilding cultural and artistic life in Gaza while strengthening connections between artists locally and internationally.
